THE SITUATION

Supergroup L.S. Dunes, featuring Tucker Rule (drummer) and Tim Payne (bassist) from Thursday, Frank Iero (guitarist) from My Chemical Romance, Travis Steever (guitarist) from Coheed and Cambria, and Anthony Green (vocalist) from Circa Survive, was set to launch their debut album album, Past Lives. Despite their individual fame, the band lacked a dedicated web presence and had no consolidated following outside of their personal pages and affiliations with previous bands. To carve out their unique identity, L.S. Dunes needed a comprehensive digital branding strategy, encompassing website development with SEO, social media engagement, streaming platform presence, and customer relationship management (CRM).

THE MISSION

Develop a unique and comprehensive digital persona for L.S. Dunes, rapidly enhancing their brand presence through an integrated strategy involving a new website, social media, and customer relationship management (CRM). Strategically engage and attract fans of similar and related music genres, seamlessly integrating them into our marketing funnel, expanding their reach, and ultimately driving increased streams and sales.

MY STRATEGIC APPROACH

I launched our promotional efforts by forming an internal team of superfans dedicated to advocating for L.S. Dunes. I then chose an ideal agency that excelled in amplifying our initiatives and dynamically presenting the band’s persona on social media. Collaboratively, with our development team, we designed a new website that not only captures the essence of L.S. Dunes but also enhances user experience and search optimization. Our design team developed unique branding and imagery that truly reflects the band’s unique spirit.

Targeting the band’s core demographic, we leveraged superfans on platforms like Discord, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to begin teasing new music and updates effectively. I coordinated with our advertising team to reach fans of similar bands through precisely targeted PPC campaigns, utilizing custom audience segments based on thorough data analysis.

We aggressively promoted the band’s new mobile subscription list via social media, PR efforts, and the band’s own website to encourage opt-ins, ensuring ongoing engagement through regular organic updates from L.S. Dunes. Additionally, we utilized playlists on digital streaming platforms to attract and convert fans of similar artists into our own fanbase.

EXPLOSIVE GROWTH AND HYPER-ENGAGED FANS

Over the course of 6 months, the campaign saw remarkable success. Our D2F efforts helped generate over $130,000 in just D2C revenue.
